Swing Like A Machine
IRON BYRON

Why? Because somewhere along the line, it was found that if you use what can be best described as a second lever, sometimes referred to as a two plane swing, there is the potential to hit the ball further. The key word here is further, but not the word accuracy and if one thinks that further, is more important than accuracy, then they should be taking up another sport.
What is being taught is the "The Traditional Swing" and it is so un-natural to the norm, that in order to achieved any degree accuracy, it requires many, many hours of practice to obtain any results and even then, it is extremely difficult to maintain consistency, which is why the tour players have their instructors in tow, wherever they go.
The simple fact that this swing, is so totally un-natural to the norm, that only those few devotees, or those who are pursuing a professional career in golf, have the time and the devotion, to spend hours of practice to obtain, the right, " sequential timing".
Some golf instructors, have realized that the Traditional Swing is not for the average golfer, because of the absolute timing required of it, and they have reverted to teaching what is termed, as the "The Natural Swing", or the single plane swing.
Is there a better swing for the average golfer to use ?
You bet there is.
There is one, that requires no practice, no teaching gimmicks, and in fact no expensive golf Instruction, all that is required is a golf club and you.
The Simple Golf Swing

With one simple set up at address you can swing a club with the most consistency, and accuracy, over and over again, without thinking, without the use of any swing gimmicks, or hours and hours of practice.
The swing requires only a few simple things to do at set up, and even if you have never played before in your life, after hitting a bucket of balls, you are ready to take to the links, full of confidence and enthusiasm.
There is no video to watch, no book to read, no alterations to your clubs, only a few steps to take, with the simple swing, set up.
Very simple, and easy to do.
Once you have used this, you can then teach it to others for profit if you so wish, because this swing, is like no others, it is so easy to do, and brings immediate results.
Having played and taught, the Traditional Swing for years, there is no question, it does have an advantage. The Traditional Swing will hit the ball further, because it incorporates, both the wrist roll, and also the wrist break, that creates two levers. With the use of the two levers, it can increase the club head speed through the impact zone, provided, that Proper Sequential Motion is achieved. However, if the club head has not returned to square, then misdirection is problematic, because, as you roll your wrist on the back swing, the club face is no longer square to the direction and must be brought back to square at impact. This is why, there are so many swing gimmicks in the market place, trying to help you to obtain the square, at impact.
The very best ball striker ever in golf, is the late Mr. Moe Norman, who never used the Traditional Swing, and instead used only what has been termed, the "Natural Swing". The very same swing that is used, in every other sport.
The reason, he said, was that he wanted to keep the club head square through out the swing, and felt that consistent accuracy, and the ease of swinging without all the PSM, was the only way to play the game. No gimmicks, no hours of practice, .no expensive golf instruction. Those who think of distance first, spend more hours practicing their recovery shots, than they do on their putting.
I personally reverted back, to using the "Natural Swing" as it's being taught by so many golf instructors, but I wasn't comfortable with all the instruction given for it, like the wide stance, and the extended arms that is also prescribed, so I said to myself "all this is swing stuff is just plain crazy, just go up and hit the ball". Grabbing my regular length clubs, I took a stance that was comfortable, and I just swung the club, using the grip that eliminates the wrist roll. And yes, I did lose a few yards of distance, but every ball hit, was within yards of each other. As with everything in life, consistency, means success.
The results: The Simple Golf Swing.
Is this swing for everyone ? Absolutely not, some will want to continue to struggle with the "Traditional Swing", others will want to learn the simplified "Natural Swing", using the longer clubs, and the wider stance. But then, there are the vast majority of golfers who will want to grab their bag, to go up to the first tee, to stand over their shot without their knees shaking and then, "Slam-it" right down the middle:
With all the game improvement equipment, all the teaching videos, manuals and gimmicks, the average golfers score, has dropped only about one stroke, this alone should signal, that there is something wrong with the use of the Traditional Swing. Even, the very best golfers in the world, have their instructors, in constant tow, wherever they go, and they have to constantly work, on their PSM.
So the question, is there a better way ?
